Essential hygiene care packs for vulnerable teenage and young mums-to-be
A not-for-profit organisation is helping to alleviate the risks of ongoing poverty, misfortune and helplessness experienced by many teenage and young mums.
Their team visit young soon-to-be-mums in hospital and help ensure they have the support needed to feel empowered, dream big and live A Brave Life. They also help these young mums to continue studies, with the goal of finishing their education.
To support these teenage and young mums, essential hygiene items are needed to create 100 care packs. These care packs will be gifted to maternity hospitals and social workers across Brisbane to help support the vulnerable mums-to-be.
Each pack needs to contain these essential items:
- Body wash / soap
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Hair ties and hair brush
- Toothbrush and too paste
- Face washer
All items must be new and in their original packaging.
Thank you for your incredible generosity.
The information given when I was pregnant, the personal stories that the mentors shared and the way they made us feel like, even though we’re young mothers that we can make something of ourselves, is what I have enjoyed most about their visits.
For a lot of these girls this is the first gift they have received for their new baby. The girls really appreciate the mentors from A Brave Life volunteering their time to visit with them. Their openness and ability to relate to young mums provides a forum for a very open and honest discussion where everyone is valued and valuable advice is given to the girls.
