Supporting the children and families of people currently incarcerated

Our organisation provides support to the children and families of people currently incarcerated as well as support direct to prisoners themselves upon release. Some of the support we provide is practical support in the way of clothing, underwear and toiletry items to assist in easing the financial strain some of these families may be experiencing, in particular to the prisoners upon release, they may be released with little to no possessions to come out to. Our clients may be experiencing many difficulties including homelessness and unemployment, both heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic due to shelters and emergency housing not taking new clients, length of wait times for Centrelink and increase of people looking for work.
