The Community Hall in Towamba is the only location that residents can go to for refuge in an emergency. In the case of a power outage, they have nothing, no power, no comms. The Towamba area was heavily impacted by fire in the recent 2020 Summer Bushfires, though not by flame, they were cut off without power for quite some time. The community hall is large, with cooking facilities but is only useful if they have power. They require a 10KVA Diesel Generator to keep the hall running in the case of another emergency such as more natural disasters.
