Our school has 310 students. 58% if these students come from homes that are in the bottom quarter in relation to Distribution of Socio-Educational Advantage. Only 5% come from homes in the top quarter. 29% of students are First Nation Peoples. 4% and rising are from languages other than English speaking. Our students, families and staff are apart of the East Gippsland community that has experienced 3-4 years of drought and extreme bush fires last summer. Employment opportunities are now limited due to the largely agricultural and tourism based economy being threatened by these two events. This dependency has been heightened by COVID-19 and pushed many of families out of work.

The school recognises this context and it's strategic planning highlights it's significant role in continuing to foster improved community health and well being. We are currently seeking to establish a community space at our school for adult learning, forums and meetings.
