Ang-Gnarra is an Indigenous not for profit organisation which delivers services to the Indigenous population of Laura.
Laura is located 150 klms north west of Cooktown in Cape York and has a population of approximately 100 people, 90% of whom are Indigenous.
The organisation auspices a Centrelink Office, My Pathway job find services, social housing; and supports cultural activities with local Traditional Owners /Elders and residents.
Ang-Gnarra has an Aboriginal Board of Directors and is being supported by Many Rivers Micro Finance to build the governance and finance capacity of the Board.
The organisation does not receive any recurrent funding from state or federal governments and is reliant on income generated via social housing rentals, and leasing of office space to My Pathway and Centrelink.
The community has a small school with enrolments of nearly 16 students.
