A mum of 6, gave birth to her newest member of the family 6-weeks ago. A healthy baby boy.
Mum has been a full-time carer, not only because she has a big brood but because her second youngest child has lung disease which requires significant periods of time in hospital, annual surgeries, constant treatment and monitoring, and long stints away from home in city based hospitals for specialists access.
Whilst breastfeeding her newborn, she experienced unusual discomfort, triggering a check up... only to be informed that she had an aggressive and accelerated form of breast cancer.
When mum should be preparing for a wonderful Christmas, she is instead fighting cancer and commencing chemotherapy. A devastating blow for the entire family... the uncertainty causing much emotional and mental strain.
