Woman is a newly arrived young mother of three from Afghanistan, currently residing in Australia with her husband. Due to cultural and financial barriers, she was never given the opportunity to attend school in her home country & migration neighbouring countries. Since arriving in Australia in 2023, she has not yet been able to enrol in English classes and other social programs, as the responsibilities of caring for her young children have limited her ability to participate in formal programs.
She has expressed a strong interest in learning how to sew and is eager to own a sewing machine. Having access to a sewing machine/sewing kit& equipment at home will allow her to begin learning a skill that not only fosters creativity and confidence but also serves as a stepping stone toward future engagement in community programs. Supporting her in this way will empower her to take gradual steps toward independence, social inclusion, and potentially future income-generating opportunities.
