We are supporting a participant who has recently transitioned into Supported Independent Living (SIL). He takes great pride in having his own home and is working toward a personal goal of hosting weekly dinners for his family. This is a significant step in his development, as he finds social situations challenging and has previously struggled with maintaining regular contact. His desire to cater for his loved ones each week reflects his growing confidence and independence. A donated BBQ would make a meaningful difference, helping him create a welcoming space for his family and build stronger connections. It would also support his progress toward greater social engagement and emotional wellbeing, while reinforcing his sense of ownership and pride in his home.
