Support Strong Jijas - Healthy Body, Healthy Mind group for disengaged Aboriginal girls
To combat the large number of Aboriginal girls who are disengaged with school and have very poor attendance rates, local services are partnering to offer a weekly after school wellbeing program; Strong Jijas - Healthy Body, Healthy Mind. The program covers healthy eating, understanding our bodies/minds, our relationships and generally creates a safe place where vulnerable people can find support. This small town was impacted by TC Seroja with damage throughout town. This group create a safe space for the girls and helps build community and social connections to build resilience.
