Two families who have been living in emergency accomodation have moved into private rental together require supports.

Two families who have been living in emergency accommodation since the 2022 floods have moved into private rental together require supports. The two families have been applying each separately for private rentals for a very long time with no success ,having both families to continually reside in emergency accommodation/motels which affected the families mentality causing distress ,depression etc. The two families decided to merge their separate rental applications to one application and have been successful in obtaining a private rental which is suited to both families needs. The families have reached out for supports in obtaining some help with essential household items needed for both families to make their new residence a home. Both families were placed in emergency accommodation after their previous homes were uninhabitable to move back into after flood waters,debris damaged the home and contents. One family is originally from murwillumbah and the other family chinderah.
