Older resident impacted by Ex-TC Ellie had home demolished due to extreme damage
An older resident of an Indigenous Community has had her home demolished due to the damage sustained by flooding in January 2023. She lost her home as well as all of her belongings and vehicle. She was evacuated out of Fitzroy Crossing, and since returning has lived in a variety of temporary accommodation. She is now living in a TAU on community and is watching her forever home being built. She is excited for the future in her new home.
