Flooded and now battling aggressive cancer. Can you help this family in need of your support?
Since being flooded in the February/March event this family have experienced a number of compounding hardships.
The father is currently receiving intensive cancer treatment and unable to work, while the mother is bearing the responsibility of the flood recovery and caring for her husband and their child. The compounding hurdles the family are facing are creating ongoing stress and negatively impacting the mental health and speed of recovery for all involved.
All of the household essential items and family personal items were lost, including furniture, bedding and electricals. The family is currently living without a kitchen or living area due to flood damage.
Six months since the flood and they are having assistance from a legal aid service regarding their insurance claim.
