"I have both physical & psychological issues that have been worsened by the impact of the floods and subsequent clean up. We have more damage to our property than we are insured for, including lose of fences, damage to out buildings. Including our garage that we are moving into next week. There is roof damage, missing external walls & it's still not been cleaned after the 2nd flood due to no water or power.
We still have no power, water or sanitation. We have had looters who graffitied our property after finding nothing worth stealing. We lost our horses, poultry, and everything we owned after approximately 5 metres of water went through our property. We were cut off hours before the evacuation orders were sent but were told our property would be safe to stay in. We were evacuated from our upstairs bedroom window 24hrs later after screaming out to a passing boat. They told us that they were told we had been evacuated the day before! We spent the next 3 nights sleeping in the open"
