Cancer has forced retirement. Insurance doesn't cover flood damage.
Our recipients have faced some difficult battles even before the flooding began, with a cancer diagnosis and the treatment battle resulting in a forced retirement. Our recipients worked extremely hard to save their belongings but unfortunately the height of the water the second time around swallowed up everything they own. With Insurance companies refusing to insure against flood damage, this couple are having to replace what they own on a disability and carer's pension. Any and all assistance is so very appreciated.
