School shoes
My client is a single 41year old First Nations woman diagnosed with terminal cancer, currently homeless with 7 children.
My client is living week to week in motel accommodation (unable to find suitable housing) after her lease came to an end and was not renewed. The house she was renting was virtually inhabitable and almost all of her belongings and those of her children had to be thrown out following last years flooding events due to mould, damp and cockroach infestations.
Although receiving treatment for cancer, my client has recently taken on the responsibility of 4 nephews and nieces who were left orphaned after their mother died (her sister). This is in addition to her own 3 children.
The 7 children all need new school shoes, particularly with winter coming on. My client has very little left after buying groceries, paying rent and finalising bills before she becomes too ill. My client will often go without food to ensure the children are fed.
My client would be extremely grateful for any assistance to purchase school shoes for the children aged 6 - 15.
