Young student struggling with schoolwork due to a broken laptop and the family being in financial hardship
The young person lives with their mother, father and 7 younger siblings, and acts in a parental role for these younger siblings due to the parents working. The family is facing significant financial hardship has a number of bills they are facing and due to the rising costs of living and their large family, are struggling with making ends meet. This young person's laptop was damaged several weeks ago and was quoted at $1300 to fix, which the family cannot afford, nor can they afford to buy a new laptop. This young person is in year 9 in school and is trying their best with engaging in their schoolwork, however, find this difficult due to not having a laptop. This means that this student struggles with completing their assessments and homework as they do not have access to a computer at home. This young person would greatly benefit from a laptop / financial support to purchase a laptop so that they are able to holistically engage in their education and learning.
