Community day for those affected by the 2019-2020 Black Summer fires
A community day was planned for Cann Valley and Mallacoota (and surrounding bushfire affected communities) shortly after the 2019-20 Black Summer fires. At the time, we organised requests for fuel vouchers through GIVIT, but then the event was postponed due to COVID. It is now going ahead on the 5th November, to be held in Cann River. The day will offer an opportunity for interested community members to gather, connect and sing - in a relaxed, inclusive, nurturing environment. There will be singing workshops; lunch provided; and an ‘all-in’ performance opportunity at the end of the day, for those who’d like to sing the songs they learnt earlier. Other contributors are covering bus hire, hall hire and catering costs. This request is for some $50 and $20 fuel vouches to cover costs of fuel for: a) the community buses we will be running to bring people into the event and b) any individuals unable to access these buses, to help with their costs to come into Cann River.
