Young family lost everything in Lismore floods
Family of 4, Mum and two kids (8 & 11) left house and stayed with friends on day before flood. Husband stayed at home, intending to protect house from looters. House floor level higher than predicted levels or previous floods.
When flood predictions were drastically increased, and as flood waters rose quickly, husband needed to be rescued by private boat.
Husband has not returned to work, wife still without work as was working in retail and shop has closed down while shopping centre is being rebuilt.
Have found temporary accommodation nearby but intending to return once landlord has fixed up house.
