School rebuild post Cyclone Seroja

During April 2021 Cyclone Seroja ripped through the town of Northampton and destroyed or damaged over 70% of homes and buildings. Our school suffered widespread damage. Roofs were ripped off, windows were broken, all our storage sheds were destroyed, along with their contents. Our playground equipment, water tanks, basketball court and surrounding trees and gardens were damaged. Finally, our Presbytery, which housed our Parish Priest, was destroyed, and has since been demolished. This house was built in 1914 and was a historical building in the town. Our Parish Priest survived the ordeal however he had to sleep in the school that night and has since moved to Geraldton, after the roof of his house was pulled off and scattered across the town. The cyclone displaced over 20% of families within our school community, many of whom have not yet had their homes rebuilt.
