Family of four in need of assistance following the 2022 Victorian floods
Family of four which includes a husband and wife and two children (ages 13yo & 11yo). They live on a 5 acre property that was heavily flooded in the Victorian flood event. Water pooled up beneath the house and rose to the doorway and caused mould to grow throughout the house, extensive damage to electrics, pumps and their gas line. They will need to replace all of their connections from their water tanks to their house due to flood damage and their water draining pumps seized. Also, their gas line is in need of repair.
Their income source is the disability support pension and they have been in financial hardship, needing to access relief and showering at the local pool before replacing the pumps.
They have been staying in emergency accommodation as they had no water or gas, they have since returned home and have access to water, but still no gas. They have a large amount of flood waste which they are not able to dispose.
