A 20 year old young person with a disability from New Zealand, who is homeless and ineligible for Centrelink and NDIS.

20-year-old male from New Zealand with an intellectual disability who is homeless. He became homeless when he left his family because of family violence. Unfortunately, he is ineligible for any payments in Australia and has no income, and because of this cannot access employment programs or even access the NDIS.
We are currently supporting him to build his skills and independence, and the most important component of this is to gain employment so that he can pursue housing. He was given a smartphone last year, but this was damaged and needs to be replaced. A replacement smartphone would assist him in gaining employment, pursuing housing, accessing his email, and remaining socially engaged. A device less than 5 years old would be ideal, and support him to achieve his goals and be independent.
