Homeless after NNSW floods
Single Aboriginal man with 2 children, left homeless after Northern Rivers floods in Feb 2022. Was living in Coraki, and left with only the sentimental possessions he was able to pack in his car at the last minute.
House that they were renting is beyond repair, and requires demolition.
Following the flood, stayed with family and friends from Inverell to Brisbane, often also sleeping in the car so not to be a burden on others.
Casual retail worker, has been too traumatised to work since the floods.
Has just returned to the Northern Rivers and living in a temporary pod village while rebuilding his life. Looking for a rental in the Northern Rivers again but needs to return to work and save before this is possible.
