Victorian State Manager - Community & Government Engagement

Your varied work week will see you raising GIVIT's profile in Victoria, building relationships with government agencies, charities and community donors, while also driving and securing donations of goods and funding to meet disaster recovery and charity needs. You’ll also oversee GIVIT's Victorian Disaster Recovery Service contract with the Victorian Government ensuring all donated offers of goods and services are managed effectively to meet genuine need after natural disasters.

In this role you will:

  • Report to the National Manager based in Brisbane.
  • Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with state and local government, recovery agencies, charity networks and corporate donors.
  • Understand the use extensively the donation management platform which is central to GIVIT’s success.
  • Ensure you meet all agreed Victorian service level agreements including key performance measures and all reporting obligations.
  • Identify opportunities for ensuring the sustainability of GIVIT services.
  • Act as media spokesperson and represent GIVIT in a variety of settings, including media opportunities, public forums, events and conferences.
  • Work with GIVIT's Marketing and Communication team to raise awareness of GIVIT's day to day impact and GIVIT's Disaster Recovery Donation Management Service.

Skills and experience you possess:

  • Key stakeholder relations are your thing.
  • Exceptional reporting skills, you know the importance of outstanding, accurate and timely reports.
  • Next level organisational skills, show us your proven capacity in planning, implementing, reviewing and achieving project goals and objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expertise in managing government contracted services and commitments.
  • Skills to be a competent and effective media spokesperson and confident public speaker.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in fast paced environments.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in Emergency Management (Recovery), Community Development/Social Services or similar discipline.

Social Media and Content Specialist

You’re a strategic and creative content specialist, with a passion for storytelling and inspiring an audience to create positive social change. You want to work somewhere that aligns with your values and you’re excited by the chance to drive the social media strategy for one of Australia’s most innovative not-for-profits.  

In this role you will champion and execute an engaging social media strategy, while also collaborating in the planning and executing of GIVIT’s SEO and email marketing calendars. You have experience delivering big-hearted engaging copy that converts across a variety of channels. You thrive in a creative, dynamic environment where you can use your talents to make a genuine positive impact in people’s lives. 

 

Does this sound like you?

  • You love writing, and you’re a skilled communicator and storyteller across digital channels. 
  • You have a strong understanding of how to set, plan, schedule and execute a social media strategy and calendar.  
  • You’re data-driven, and know how to interpret data and use insights to inform and optimise content. 
  • You’re a skilled collaborator that works well both autonomously and as part of a team. 
  • You’re used to managing multiple projects, and planning and prioritising to meet deadlines. 
  • You balance your creativity and innovation with strong attention detail. 

What you'll be doing

  • End-to-end responsibility for GIVIT’s social media channels, including strategy, planning, content creation, budget management, influencer coordination and reporting. 
  • Coordinate and execute content plans across channels, including a social media and EDM calendar. 
  • Create high quality, big hearted, engaging written content for multiple channels including social media, website, EDMs and other channels. 
  • Work with other team members to deliver a range of assets including video, photography, graphics. 
  • Collate content from various sources to craft compelling, engaging stories that detail GIVIT’s impact in the community. 
  • Report, identify and implement continuous optimisations to improve the quality and depth of written content across all GIVIT’s channels. 

What skills you bring to the role

  • You have a tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, digital or related field.
  • You have at least 4 years’ relevant experience, with a portfolio of work to demonstrate your experience. 
  • You have demonstrated experience in social media, with a portfolio of content that showcases creativity and an understanding of social media trends. 
  • Experience using email marketing software to create and send EDMs is desirable but not essential.
