Refugees & asylum seekers from all over the world are regularly arriving in Australia ready to rebuild their lives.
Refugee families and individuals are consantly arriving, many with no personal possessions. You can help them feel welcome.
Refugees are regularly arriving in Australia after fleeing their home country. They are being assisted in their resettlement by organisations across Australia, which provide humanitarian support and material aid.
These families are constantly arriving in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Perth, Brisbane and other towns with no possessions or support networks. Together, we can help them recover from their harrowing experiences, and build new lives in Australia. Click here to see exactly what's needed.
The GIVIT team and platform has helped make a thousand small miracles and comforts happen for our clients who have had to flee their homes in Afghanistan under threat of their lives during a global pandemic. GIVIT has been indispensable to help us connect with generous offers in volume, quickly.
How you can help refugees & asylum seekers
The personal situations and circumstances of the refugees arriving vary from person to person. This means there are many different item requests, and these are subject to change. Commonly requested items include:
- Nappies, baby items and toys
- Men's and women's underwear, socks and clothes
- Grocery vouchers
- Laptops and computers
- Art supplies
To see refugee-related requests from your state only, simply click the button above, then use the 'location' filter to select requests from your local area.
You can donate money to help refugees by clicking the FUND button next to the item that you'd like to donate towards. 100% of your donation received by GIVIT will be used to purchase these items.
Helping refugee families start the school year on the front foot
Smiggle has donated hundreds of back to school items to West Welcome Wagon, a Melbourne-based not-for-profit that supports asylum seekers and refugees in Melbourne's western suburbs.
Donation of iPads to refugees
GIVIT partners with numerous charities across the country, who support the health and well-being of refugees, whether newly arrived or working to build their lives in Australia. To coincide with National Refugee Week, we were delighted to coordinate a request for two iPads made by the Red Cross in the ACT.
