Donations Needed For Flood Impacted Communities in Western Queensland
GIVIT has partnered with the Queensland Government to manage donations of essential goods and services for people impacted by catastrophic flooding in parts of Western Queensland.
GIVIT works directly with councils, recovery outreach teams, charities and community groups in impacted regions to find out exactly what’s needed by people affected by this disaster.
GIVIT CEO Chris Staines said unrequested donations can overwhelm frontline services and distract them from their primary roles in response and recovery.
“Our first message is please do not take or send unrequested goods into flood impacted areas. There is nowhere to store these donations, or resources available to sort through them,” said Chris.
“GIVIT.org.au is an easy and efficient way of donating directly to people impacted by this event.”
There are currently more than 500 essential goods and services requested on the GIVIT Western Queensland Flood Appeal.
100% of donated funds will be used to purchase essential goods and services for people affected by this disaster. Where possible, GIVIT uses donated funds to purchase items from local providers to support the economic recovery of impacted regions.

If you have an item to donate that is not listed, please register the item on www.givit.org.au/donate-items.
