We have been supporting a single mother of two children who have experienced significant hardship over the past year. The family has undergone the loss of a sister/daughter to suicide and the resulting grief has significantly affected the mental health of both the mother and her children. As a result, the mother has been unable to return to work and is experiencing severe financial hardship.
Mother is paying 70% of her payment to rent, leaving her struggling to meet basic living expenses. The mother is also a domestic and family violence survivor. She has advised that she is unable to provide the required back-to-school items for her son as he prepares to return to school, including a laptop and stationeries. The school has recommended a Microsoft Windows Laptop OR Apple Mac Laptop; Operating System Windows 11 | MacOS 15 (Sequoia) or later as part of the student’s learning requirements.
