Recipient story

Young mother of 6 diagnosed with Cancer - now in a wheelchair
GIVIT
Flooding 2022
My client was diagnosed with cancer when she was giving birth to her 6th child she has 6 under the age of 12. Due to the treatment she is now unable to walk unaided. She is using crutches around the home and in a wheelchair for outside the home. Her cancer treatment affects her bladder and bowel control and she is needing incontinence pads/nappies regularly which are extremely costly. Unfortunately she is not eligible for the concession rate as her type of cancer doesn't fit the description for eligibility. Therefore we are after either incontinence pad/nappies or grocery vouchers to subsides the cost of the pads.
