The resident and his family were inundated with water making their home uninhabitable
2025 NSW Mid North Coast & Hunter Floods
The resident and his family, wife and daughter were at home when the flood occurred. Their whole property was inundated with water. The water reached up to 2 metres into their house. The family lost everything including their clothes, furniture, appliances, everything. The family were rescued by a neighbor who came to help the residents who got them out by boat. After the event, the resident spent a huge amount of time helping other members of his community by distributing dog and cat food to impacted residents that they had arranged and received from a charity out West. The resident is in receipt of a part pension and in their late 60's. They have received donated items from the Community such as a secondhand dining table and chairs and have salvaged as much as they could. They have received no other assistance to date other than the donations from the local community. The family is slowly putting back together their home but need assistance in doing so.
