Domestic & Family Violence
This young person is First Nations identified and currently experiencing his first time in youth detention. His time in custody has been extended, and he has grown up surrounded by historical family violence and generational involvement in the justice system. He is the youngest in a large family and has often been exposed to instability and trauma.
Despite these challenges, he is highly motivated to create positive change. He has a strong desire to re-engage in education, participate in substance rehabilitation programs, and connect with community supports. He has expressed a genuine commitment to rebuilding his life and returning home with new goals and a safer pathway forward.
Our goal is to support a safe and stable environment for his transition home, where he can feel welcomed, grounded, and supported to maintain positive routines. Providing a bed frame will help set up a proper space for him, supporting his wellbeing, sense of belonging, and a fresh start.
