Mum, a PHD student, is a mother of two children (a 2- and 12-year-old), who is current experiencing financial hardship. Mum's husband sadly committed suicide 2 years ago, hanging himself in the home they bought together, and in which Mum currently resides. Mum's sponsorship at the University of Queensland recently came to an end and she is struggling to take on additional work as she is required to often taken her eldest daughter to a number of appointments for both her mental health and ASD diagnosis. Mum is in arrears with her mortgage and is at risk of homelessness. She is proactively working with a financial counsellor, but the arrears are significant meaning her outgoings are very tight and will likely be so for a considerable length of time. Mum's eldest child has had a declining period of mental health and is struggling with her gender identity, including what gender of clothing she wants to wear and feels comfortable in.
