I am supporting a First Nations woman with her housing goals. She has been experiencing housing instability and at imminent risk of homelessness due to a recent traumatic event which has her kids removed from her care, which has had a profound impact on her. Due to the psychological impacts, she had to cut down shifts, and the shortage of income resulted in her receiving an eviction notice.
We have continuously applied 'band aid' solutions to the issues, delaying eviction due to a number of significant systemic barriers.
Excitingly, she has been allocated housing which will also see her kids return to her care where they can rebuild their lives and focus on their goals as a family.
They need support to make their home homely, so any support would be appreciated.
