She is a mother of five young children who has recently fled a domestic violence situation. Since leaving, she has faced multiple challenges on her own as the sole adult caring for her family.
Shortly after relocating, her car was stolen—along with her house keys—leaving her and her children feeling unsafe. Queensland Police Service (QPS) advised her to change the locks for security, and they were unable to confirm whether her ex-partner was involved in the theft.
This experience has significantly impacted her sense of safety and wellbeing. She is struggling to sleep and is feeling overwhelmed by the ongoing stress of managing everything alone. Despite her circumstances, she has not yet received any financial support or subsidies and is finding it difficult to provide for her children’s basic needs.
