Mattress Lifter Tool

As a community aged care provider (not-for-profit) we have a growing number of older people and those with physical disabilities or mobility issues that are unable to lift their own mattresses to make their beds. Our staff assist with cleaning and changing the sheets however to prevent injury are unable to lift the mattress. What seems like a simple task and one that maybe we take for granted personally, is actually quite important for an older person. For many older adults, having their bed neatly made each day is more than just a matter of appearance - it's tied to dignity, routine, comfort, and wellbeing. It gives them a sense of order and control, preserves their dignity and standards, is linked to their mental and emotional wellbeing, ensures their health and safety and finally is a symbol of care. Being able to assist them with this task is a small act that conveys respect, attention to detail, and care for their comfort.
