I am supporting a mum of 5 young children. The mum and children have experienced family violence over several years. During this time, the mum has worked with services to ensure the family's safety while also supporting her husband to access behaviour change services. The family's circumstances changed recently when the mum ended the relationship. However, due to not currently being financially stable, the mum and children remain in the home with the husband. The mum has been supported to ensure this is a safe option, however it is not sustainable long term. While the mum is supported to access alternative housing arrangements, the husband continues coercive and controlling behaviours and is limiting access to finances, During this time providing financial support towards areas such as groceries, fuel, household and Christmas items, will contribute to further relieving the mum's financial burden of being able to re-establish herself and her children.
