Women who attend this ward are struggling with their mental health and have usually experienced trauma, domestic violence, homelessness and are missing their kids and family environment. We recognise that being admitted to an inpatient unit can be scary and overwhelming, particularly for those people who have experienced trauma and violence.
Being admitted in an inpatient ward during Christmas is an overwhelming and emotional time for some of the women on the ward. We would like to create some Christmas themed activities for people to participate in to make Christmas themed gifts for family and friends. We would not be able to use our usual art and craft stock, but would really love to be able to purchase some Christmas themed items such as painting christmas tree models, creating Christmas baubles and tree decorations etc
