Mr K is an intellectually disabled man living with bariatric needs who has recently moved into a new home where he now lives independently. He is an active participant in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which supports him in managing his complex needs and maintaining his quality of life.
Although he now has a safe and more appropriate living environment, Mr K requires a number of essential household items to make his new home functional, comfortable, and suitable for his needs. These items are critical to supporting his independence and ensuring his home environment promotes both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Mr K has no informal supports—he does not have family or friends available to assist him and he relies entirely on formal services through the NDIS and the broader community sector.
While not currently in paid employment, Mr K volunteers his time for the benefit of his local community. His contributions through volunteering reflect his commitment
