Single parent family from First nations community. Mum has experienced financial pressures exacerbated by DV which led to mum and her 2-year-old daughter seeking support and being connected with a caseworker.
Mum’s goal is to go back to work either as cleaner or her ultimate goal is utilising her hairdressing qualification and starting a home salon.
She has not had many opportunities to “dream big” and is working to build her confidence back up again but her dedication to her daughter is admirable as she makes every decision with her baby’s best interests at heart.
She will be having her second Christmas with her daughter and wants to make it extra special despite the limitations. Holidays are a time of joy for most with the privilege of celebrating with friends and family but that is not a luxury they have. Mum doesn't want her child to feel excluded in festivities so any extra support would be appreciated.
