Client inundated due Jan-Feb flood, loss essential items, no insurance, Gov grant denied
2025 North & Far North QLD Floods
Client was inundated with flood water during the Jan-Feb FNQ floods 2025. Client was in the process of renovating their kitchen so all electrical contents in their kitchen was brought downstairs. During this time the Feb 4th flood occurred inundating their home, this is a property that has never flooded before. Family only purchased the property two year prior, had no insurance as they were renovating the old home. Client had applied for the essential household items grant through community recoveries, however that was denied due to insufficient evidence. The whole process of losing all essential items combined with the grant process has put immense stress of this family.
