Recipient story

Indigenous family from Ngukurr relocating to Darwin for son’s urgent medical care — support needed.
First Nations Support
GIVIT
An Indigenous family from Ngukurr is being forced to relocate to Darwin so their youngest son can receive urgent and ongoing medical treatment. This move is not something they ever expected or planned for — it’s a necessity to ensure their little boy gets the care he needs to survive and heal.

Leaving their home, culture, and community behind has placed an enormous emotional and financial strain on the entire family. Being off-Country is deeply challenging, especially while navigating the stress of hospital visits, temporary housing, and life in an unfamiliar city.

The family is doing everything they can to stay strong and together, but the costs of travel, accommodation, food, and basic needs are quickly adding up. They are in urgent need of support to make this transition safe and stable, so they can focus on what matters most: their son’s health and wellbeing.

Every donation, big or small, will help provide relief and keep this family together during this difficult time.
