Single mum with son aged 11, lost everything in the 2022 floods and have been displaced ever since, now living in temporary housing village without the security of a stable home. Their situation became ven more difficult after being impacted by Tropical Cyclone Alfred earlier this year.
Mum is the sole carer and provider for her son. She has a lived experience of Domestic Violence and is struggling with substance misuse. She does not have her driver's licence, which makes managing daily tasks and accessing support much harder.
Financial hardship is ongoing and she is struggling to cover basic needs on her own.
Her son is preparing to start high school next year. Without a secure home or a space to study, it is difficult to create the stability needed during this important educational stage.
With no external supports available, this family is working hard to move forward but needs some help to regain stability and build a stronger future.
