A single mother of a 10 month old baby is working to rebuild her life after leaving a long term domestic violence situation that involved emotional, psychological, financial, and physical abuse. The most recent incident on 1 January 2026 resulted in the end of the relationship and the perpetrator leaving the home. Before departing, he agreed to continue contributing to rent, but all contact ceased more than two weeks ago, and no further support has been provided. Without this contribution, she has fallen into rental arrears and has already been contacted by the real estate agency regarding overdue payments. She currently relies solely on Centrelink benefits. She is connected with support services and is taking steps toward independence, but the sudden loss of financial contribution from the perpetrator has created immediate hardship. Assistance at this time would help her maintain safe, , secure housing while she works toward long term stability.
