This woman's partner passed away unexpectedly in March of this year. Her 4 step grand-children, all under 8 were being cared for by herself and her (now deceased) husband. The mother of the children is unfit to look after the children and she is prepared to hand over her parental rights so that the children are cared for correctly. The children were taken from the family upon the death of her husband but now, this woman is working with Child Safety services to gain formal custody of the children herself. She has recently been notified by the Department that her step grand-children will able to stay with under a Kinship Carer arrangement. This woman is on a DSP and has minimal funds. She is now frantically trying to setup her home to accommodate four children to live with her permanently and to provide a safe and stable home for them. Any support that can be offered to help these four young children to adjust to a permanent home with their step-grand mother would be amazing.
