Recipient story

A young person who has experienced bullying to the extent of not feeling safe to leave their home to attend school.
GIVIT
First Nations Support
Ready to Learn
Christmas 2025
This young person has experienced bullying from peers to the extent that they do not feel safe to go into the community.
This has had a strong impact on their mental health and has led to them experiencing severe anxiety and fear of leaving their home.
They have disengaged from school due to this anxiety, they are becoming more and more isolated and significantly falling behind academically.
They would like the opportunity to receive educational support in the home environment as well as receive clinical support for their anxiety through telehealth. However, due to their family experiencing financial hardship and struggling to cover the cost of basic needs they are not in a position to purchase any of the equipment needed to support the young person accessing these services remotely.
Any and all help for this young individual would be greatly appreciated.
