This resident had significant damage to her home and lost a lot of electrical items that just stopped working after the storm.
Three days after the storm her daughter died which was a huge shock and added trauma. She now has custody of her 12 year old grandson who can't live with his father due to family violence.
After the storm, paying for a funeral and supporting her grandson has left this resident unable to replace items such as a T.V, microwave, dryer and fridge.
This resident is feeling she will never get financially comfortable again as she now has the emotional and financial responsibility of raising her grandson, she is on a pension and finding life overwhelming at present.
Her mental health is fragile , which is understandable, any support will be appreciated.
