Recipient story

Living in Bushland Without Access to Medical Care or Basic Needs – Urgent Support Required
GIVIT
A 78-year-old woman is currently living in an ageing caravan at an informal campsite in the Mandurah area with her two adult sons, both of whom experience complex health issues including serious back injuries, epilepsy and mental health concerns. The family’s only vehicle has now broken down beyond repair, leaving them completely without transport.

She herself has significant mobility limitations and has been hospitalised multiple times this year. Without a reliable vehicle, she is unable to reach essential medical appointments, access urgent healthcare, collect medications or obtain basic necessities such as food and clean water. The campsite is in an isolated area without access to public transport, meaning they now have no way of meeting even their most fundamental needs.

She remains engaged with support services and is doing her best to maintain safety and dignity for herself and her family. However, without transport, their situation is deteriorating
