Mum and young daughter with a disability escaping FDV

Mum and five-year-old daughter have just left a FDV situation. Daughter has also just been diagnosed as having autism. Mum and daughter have moved five times in recent weeks staying with friends temporarily. We are currently trying to get them a place in a refuge but there are not many spaces available in the area. Mum is not an Australian citizen and therefore is not entitled to the FDV support payment. Being a permanent resident from New Zealand also excludes mum from accessing the FDV financial support payment. They are surviving on limited money from Centrelink as mum's payments will not come through fully until January. Mum and daughter are struggling to buy food, and we are linking them in with Foodbank. Mum and daughter are not able to think about Christmas as they are homeless and are struggling financially, while still trying to process all that has happened in the last couple of weeks.
