Client is a mature-aged, single woman whose life is marked by resilience in the face of relentless hardship. She has lived on the Sydney streets since her youth, self-managing significant mental health issues associated with historical trauma stemming the consequences of domestic violence and street living.
In an attempt to better her life, Client recently purchased her first house. Misled by poor advice, she bought the house sight unseen. She now owns a dilapidated, ex-Dept. of Housing house that requires significant repair, and she has no legal recourse to appeal the condition of the property.
Additionally, Client is dealing with a diagnosed brain tumour. She travels to Sydney for treatment. Lack of funds means she lives on the streets while in Sydney. Paying for improvements to the house is untenable, and daily self-care is a struggle.
