Community Heroes in Glenthorne Need Our Help
2025 NSW Mid North Coast & Hunter Floods
For years, this Glenthorne family has put others first. Even now—despite losing almost everything—they were reluctant to ask for help because they know so many people in our community are doing it tough.
Their home, which had only ever seen around 40 cm of water in the lower level, was devastated in this unprecedented 1-in-500-year flood. This time, water rose above the top level, leaving their house uninhabitable. The SES rescued them from their property, and since then they have been camping on-site while trying to rebuild their lives.
Friends and family have stepped in to advocate on their behalf, because these are the people who never ask for anything—yet always show up for everyone else.
We are reaching out to the GIVIT community to request Bunnings vouchers. These will allow the family to install donated flooring and a donated secondhand kitchen so they can begin making their home liveable again.
