Family from primary homelessness in financial hardship due to storage and travel costs.
Family is participating in our Family Accommodation Program. The Family Accommodation Program (FAP) provides case management and transitional housing to families experiencing homelessness. The family entered homelessness when their private rental was sold, they then lived in bushland in a caravan and used all money to provide basic needs, money to move items from storage units. As the transitional housing property is currently under sized for the family, they still have the cost of the storage units. As a part of the program, we complete budgets. And the client is in financial hardship. Due to client being a carer she is currently unable to increase her income. The children have remained in the schools from before homelessness to stay connect to their community and for stability. This is a 50 min drive from their current transitional property cause more financial hardship. The family are able to scrap be for basic nee, but this leaves no extra in their budget for extra items.
