Domestic & Family Violence
Our non-for-profit supportive service works with vulnerable families who are struggling in the areas of FDV, drugs and alcohol addiction, intragenerational trauma, disability and homelessness. These families are at risk of losing their children to the department of child protection. We walk alongside these families offering support in improving the areas that are of concern. We also work with families who are being reunified back with their children that have been in the care of the department. We see these families struggle financially; the department does offer some financial support, but at times it is not seen as a strength if financial help is sought from them. Christmas time is a time of giving and should be joyful for families. Having some help financially to buy a gift for their children or put a Christmas dinner on the table can create treasured memories, ease emotional stress, and encourage the will and hope to become stronger, safe families.
